Established in 1882, the Fowey Hotel is a haven of tranquillity resting on the bank of the Fowey River Estuary. This grand lady, a tribute to great Victorian architecture, majestically watches over the lazy yachts and quaint fishing boats as they creep in and out of the mouth of the river. The hotel is privately owned and renowned for its friendly, relaxed atmosphere and high standards. Many of the individually decorated en suite bedrooms offer panoramic views as do all of the public rooms. Set in beautifully landscaped gardens with an area just across the Esplanade, right by the water's edge. In this garden one can enjoy a traditional Cornish Cream Tea on lazy summer days or, alternatively, from the hotel's pretty terrace overlooking the gardens and water. The award winning restaurant offers a choice of dishes using the best of Cornish produce based on what is seasonally available, all of which are skilfully prepared by a very experienced kitchen brigade led by Master Chef Mark Griffiths.
